From the city of La Paz, you will head toward the southern part of Lake Titicaca, known as "Wiñaymarka" (the Eternal City). Next, you will cross the Tiquina Strait to reach the town of Copacabana, where you will board a boat to the sacred Island of the Sun (Isla del Sol). During the journey, you can admire spectacular views of the Cordillera Real. Once on the island—where you will have lunch—you will discover Pilkokaina, a structure begun by the Tiwanaku people and later expanded by the Incas. Afterward, a walk across the island will lead you to the Inca Stairway, the gardens, and the Fountain of the Three Waters. You will return to Copacabana to visit the basilica and view the paintings that tell the story of Tito Yupanqui—the sculptor of the image—before finally making the return journey to La Paz.
