DAY 1 Departure from La Paz to Lake Titicaca; crossing the Tiquina Strait and continuing the journey to Copacabana, admiring pre-Columbian agricultural terraces along the way that—despite the passage of centuries—are still cultivated. After lunch, you will cross the lake by motorboat to the Island of the Sun (Isla del Sol) to visit the southern area and the Yumani community. A walk through magnificent scenery will take you from Pilkokaina—a structure begun by the Tiwanaku people and later expanded by the Incas—to the Yumani community, where you will spend the night. (Lunch and dinner) DAY 2 In the morning, you will descend the "Inca Stairway," passing by the "Fountain of Youth." You will also see the terraces, or *takanas*, where regional crops are still grown today. You will return to Copacabana before lunch to visit the Basilica of Copacabana and admire the miraculous Black Virgin; you will also learn the story of Tito Yupanqui, the sculptor of this miraculous image venerated since the 16th century. Afterward, you will take a walk through the handicraft shops. Finally, you will return to the city of La Paz. (Buffet breakfast and lunch)
